About Us - Himalayan landscape

Where the MountainsBecome Your Story

Born from two decades on the world's highest peaks, Everest Limit is your guide to Himalayas - crafted by Sherpas who have lived every vertical meter of this terrain.

Nepal's Most Personal Himalayan Experience

“Safety is not a policy. It is the culture every one of our guides breathes”

We are not a mass-market tour operator. We are a small, passionate team of Sherpa guides, mountaineers, and mountain lovers who have chosen to share the Himalayas the way we know them honestly, safely, and unforgettably.

Based in Kathmandu, Everest Limit specialises in trekking, peak climbing, high-altitude expeditions, cultural tours, and city tours across Nepal. Every programme we design is built around one conviction: your adventure should feel personal, not packaged.

Everest Limit is registered in Nepal with the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Cooperatives (Tourism Licence No. 5621/081/82) and in the United States, operating as a Nepal and US-registered Himalayan adventure company. We are proud members of both the Nepal Mountaineering Association and the Trekking Agents Association of Nepal.

Mission & Values

The Principles That Guide Every Step We Take

Safe Above Everything

Every decision — from route selection to staffing to equipment — is made through one lens: will this keep our clients and crew safe? We carry oxygen, first aid kits, and satellite communication on all high-altitude programmes. Our guides are trained in mountain rescue and wilderness first aid.

Responsible Tourism

We follow strict leave-no-trace protocols on all treks and expeditions. We reduce single-use plastics, support proper waste management at altitude, and offset our environmental impact wherever we can. The mountains we guide through must be preserved for generations to come.

Fair Treatment of Guides & Porters

We pay fair wages above industry minimums, provide comprehensive insurance, supply proper gear, and ensure every member of our field team — from base camp cook to lead Sherpa — is treated with dignity and respect. Our people are our most important asset.

Exceptional Client Experience

We tailor every programme to your ability, ambition, and schedule. Small groups allow for genuine connection with your guide, flexible pacing, and real moments of discovery — not a conveyor belt of tourists moving to a fixed timetable.

Dawa Gyaljen Sherpa — Founder & CEO

Our Founder & Managing Director

Dawa Gyaljen Sherpa

Dawa Gyaljen Sherpa was born and raised in the Rolwaling Valley, one of Nepal's most remote villages, where the mountains shaped his life long before they became his profession. What began as a boyhood spent among high peaks has grown into more than 20 years of leading treks and high-altitude expeditions across Nepal and beyond.

Dawa has summited Mount Everest five times and led expeditions from both the Nepal (South) and Tibet (North) sides. He has also guided climbers on Cho Oyu, Manaslu, Ama Dablam, Himlung Himal, Muztagh Ata, and numerous 6,000-metre peaks, and has spent years leading treks throughout the Himalaya.

Along the way, he worked with several leading international expedition operators, gaining direct experience of global best practices in logistics, client care, risk management, and mountain safety. He later earned an MSc in International Tourism Management in the United Kingdom, adding formal business training to a mountaineering heritage that runs generations deep in his family.

After years of leading and managing expeditions for international operators, Dawa founded Everest Limit on 7 July 2024 to provide climbers and trekkers with safer, more personal, and more transparent Himalayan adventures rooted in authentic Sherpa hospitality.

As CEO, he sets the company's strategy and direction, working closely with a team of expedition leaders, trekking specialists, and operations professionals. Together they have built a culture of accountability, careful planning, and respect for the communities and landscapes in which they work.

Dawa believes a successful expedition begins long before anyone reaches the trailhead. Whether a client is standing on the summit of Everest or trekking in Nepal for the first time, his commitment is the same: honest advice, thorough preparation, and personal attention from start to finish.

Weather Monitoring

We subscribe to professional mountain weather forecast services and make all summit and high-altitude movement decisions based on current data — never schedules or client pressure.

Guide Training Standards

All guides hold government trekking or mountaineering licences, NMA mountaineering certifications, and wilderness first aid qualifications. Ongoing training is mandatory.

Satellite Communication

Every decision — from route selection to staffing to equipment — is made through one lens: will this keep our clients and crew safe? We carry oxygen, first aid kits, and satellite communication on all high-altitude programmes. Our guides are trained in mountain rescue and wilderness first aid.

Insurance Requirements

All clients are required to carry comprehensive travel and medical evacuation insurance with high-altitude coverage before embarking on any trekking or climbing programme.

Acclimatisation Protocols

Our itineraries follow science-backed acclimatisation schedules, with built-in rest days and altitude monitoring. We never rush a client through altitude gain — the mountain will always be there tomorrow.

Why Choose Us

What Sets Everest Limit Apart

Highly Experienced Sherpa Guides

Our guides are not just local hires — they are seasoned Himalayan professionals with certified training, summit records on the world's highest peaks, and the kind of mountain intuition that only years of high-altitude living can produce.

Small Group Sizes

We deliberately limit group sizes so that your guide can focus on you — your pace, your energy, your questions. Mountain safety improves dramatically when each client receives genuine attention rather than being herded through the route.

Fully Personalised Itineraries

No two clients are the same, and no two itineraries should be either. We design programmes around your fitness level, interests, and timeline — from a weekend cultural tour of Kathmandu to a full 60-day Everest expedition.

Travelling Well
Means Leaving It Better

The mountains and communities we operate in are not resources to be extracted — they are living places to be respected and supported. These commitments guide every programme we run.

🏔️

Waste Management at Altitude

We operate strict carry-in, carry-out policies. No waste is buried or burned on the trail. We support clean-up initiatives in the Everest and Annapurna regions.

🤝

Supporting Local Communities

We use locally owned tea houses, source food from local suppliers, and contribute to mountain community schools and infrastructure projects.

👥

Hiring Local Guides & Porters

100% of our field staff are Nepali nationals from mountain communities. Employment in the trekking sector is among the most significant income sources for Himalayan villages.

🌱

Eco-Friendly Practices

We minimise single-use plastics, encourage reusable water systems with purification tablets, and brief all clients on Leave No Trace principles before departure.
